I had a grandmother and mother who would embroider or knit, a father who would draw and was happy to lend his coloured pencils, an admiring granddaughter le- arning to do lovely work. Then I went on to study science , yet was sti ll drawn to design, threads and materials, rediscovering the joys of embroidery and embroidering my own designs during my fi rst maternity leave. This was merely the starti ng point of a long journey in both design and educati on lasti ng thirty years. Editors placed their trust in me and enabled me to publish several books: fl owers, bird, fi sh, cats, small garden animals, travel… I conti nued to experiment with colours, fi lled designs and outlines, seeking transparency and movement everywhere with just a few cross-sti tches.
